Beloi is a word of possible Slavic origin and may mean Balcony, because it’s a place near by the Vikos Canyon. It is easy to visit, because the Cultural Club of Vradeto has placed many signs. After a 15 minute trek to North direction one finds Beloi! But first you can see a place (signed) with a name “Nun’s hole”. It is said that a nun once fell inside. Keep walking and you will come across a stone path, before a narrow pass across the rocks, and ………….. all Vikos Canyon is above your feet!

It is said “one photo is worth a thousand words”, but we feel that “Beloi is worth two thousand words”. Cry and hear your voice echo again and again and again! The echo is perfect. But you are not allowed to throw stones or rubbish.

Vikos canyon has a twenty kilometers length, a width of 200m – 2km and an altitude of almost 1000m.

Most of the waters of Central Zagori flow through Vikos at winter but during the summer it is dry! Apart from the flora on the river bands, the plant life that grows in the area is remarkable!
