The Drakolimni is a sub alpine water collection, which is located at an altitude of 2150m. The only way to arrive there is by walking from Vradeto for five hours, but the view will reward your fatigue. According to the magazine EXPERIMENT – GEORAMA, diving was made into the Drakolimni to determine the exact depth, as a myth suggests it is bottomless.
The official announcement was that: Thick, green and silver textured aquatic marine weeds, covers a big area of the bottom! Between them, there are countless small tritons, the strange small dragons of the lake.
And its depth is only five meters.(Petros Nicolaides, engineering- engineer of submarine constructions.)
The mountainous size of Timfi has many abysses!
There is the Provatina’s Abyss (-407m), Hasma tou Epous (-422m), Bride’s Hole (-299m), Tsepelovo abyss (-200m), Epos 2 (-418m), and Odysseus Hole with length (387m) and depth (-153m).
The Rombozi lake forms a crossroad to Drakolimni, Gamila peak and the village of Vrisohori through the Karteros passage (2478m). The Gamila peak is at the right hand (2497m) while on the left hand is Ploskos peak(2372m) and behind us is Astraka peak (2436m) and Lapato (2251m).
